Data Lineage & Ingestion

Data Category Primary Source How Stockerboard Uses It Update Frequency Limitations
Market prices National Stock Exchange of India official end-of-day market files (NSE Bhavcopy) Closing prices are used for market-price displays, daily percentage changes, and price-derived calculations. Each eligible trading day after end-of-day data becomes available (~18:30 IST). Stockerboard is not displaying real-time tick data in this dataset; all prices reflect end-of-day settlement.
52-week high / low Historical NSE end-of-day prices Calculated from the eligible rolling historical price window. Updated with new end-of-day price data each trading session. Corporate-action handling and source-history availability can affect historical comparisons.
Market capitalization Official NSE market closing prices and certified share-count disclosures Market capitalization is calculated from the applicable Stockerboard market price and the certified share-count data available to the financial pipeline (Closing Price × Certified Equity Shares). Updated with daily end-of-day settlement records. Outstanding share counts are sourced from periodic regulatory filings and adjust with corporate actions.
Financial statements & ratios Company filings and Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) XBRL disclosures used by Stockerboard's certified financial-data pipeline. Powers fundamental ratios including P/E, ROE, ROCE, and balance sheet summaries. As new eligible reported financial periods (quarterly and annual) are processed. Different companies report on different dates; therefore financial data across companies may represent different reporting periods.
Corporate actions Official NSE corporate-action disclosures used by the Stockerboard data pipeline. Informs share adjustments, bonus issues, stock splits, and dividend records. Continuously updated as corporate disclosures are processed. Relies on official company announcements and exchange circulars.

Understanding Multi-Date Freshness

An important Stockerboard trust feature is that different financial metrics carry different natural timestamps:

  • Market Data Date: Reflects the latest processed eligible trading session settled by the National Stock Exchange of India.
  • Financial Reporting Date: Reflects the latest processed eligible reported financial period (e.g., FY2025, Q1 FY2026). Companies report earnings weeks after a quarter ends; Stockerboard timestamps financial records to the certified report period.
  • Corporate Action Date: Reflects the effective date or announcement date depending on the displayed field.

Two metrics displayed beside each other can legitimately have different underlying dates. Stockerboard presents these dates transparently rather than creating artificial synchronization.

Known Limitations & Disclosures

  • End-of-Day Settlement Only: Stockerboard is an analytical research platform and does not stream real-time tick-by-tick prices or low-latency intraday feeds. All equity data is compiled on an End-of-Day (EOD) closing basis.
  • Varying Reporting Periods: Different companies report on different dates and fiscal calendars, meaning comparison across companies may reflect different underlying quarterly or annual periods.
  • Unavailable Values: Loss-making companies can lack meaningful positive P/E ratios, and newly listed securities may lack complete historical periods. Unavailable values are explicitly rendered as — Not available and never silently estimated.
  • Corporate Restatements: When companies restate past accounts or adjust share counts following stock splits, bonus issues, or rights offerings, historical per-share metrics are updated in subsequent pipeline cycles.
  • Coverage Universe: The canonical coverage universe comprises active equity listings on the National Stock Exchange of India. Suspended, de-listed, or debt instruments are excluded from active screener matrices.
  • Exchange Attribution: 'NSE', 'NIFTY 50', 'BSE', and 'SENSEX' are registered trademarks of their respective exchanges. Stockerboard is an independent computational research engine and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with the National Stock Exchange of India or BSE Limited.
